SAAB Grintek Defence Launches Learnership Programme for Youth with Disabilities
SAAB Grintek Defence recently partnered with AnswertheCall to launch a 12-month learnership programme targeting Youth with Disabilities. Ten unemployed youth residing in Gauteng were selected, mostly from a rural background, to participate in the programme.
SAAB aims to make a difference by offering them an opportunity to further their knowledge and skills. Equipping them with the necessary skills for the workplace and essentially, the world.
The programme will focus on key competency areas that are crucial in the workplace integration and development. After 12 months, participants will have an MICT SETA Technical Support certification and an international certificate from CompTIA.
“I am grateful to SAAB and AnswertheCall for this opportunity. Getting a job when is already difficult, but its a lot worse when you have a disability.”
Partners on the programme – Gauteng Enterprise Propeller, Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Exercise Worx – joined AnswertheCall for the event.
